Meet Reid Hartmann

All-Conference outfielder at Meramec Community College freshman year 1987.

Drafted by New York Mets in 1988.

Played 3 years in the New York Mets minor league system as a switch hitting 2b-ss-3b.

Taught hitting and fielding for over 6 years at Meramec Community College and St. Louis Baseball Academy. 1992-93 coached freshman baseball at Mehlville High School.

The "Hartmann" Method

I teach the basic mechanics of hitting a baseball. My manager in Jackson, Mississippi (Clint Hurdle, Colorado Rockies Manager) once told me,"You can tell a player 1,000 times what to do, but the 1,001st time it might sink in"  I also stress the mental side of hitting a baseball. A hitter always has to think positive. Baseball is 50% physical and 50% mental. Good hitters are always wanting to learn and get better, gain an advantage, no matter how small that advantage is. Practice, practice, practice.
