Amanda Roberts
Centerfielder for Washington University in St. Louis

A St. Louis native, Amanda Roberts started all 4 years at Lindbergh High School in the outfield, hitting .422 her senior year with 24 stolen bases and 24 RBIs.  She was voted the best offensive player two years and was also all-metro and all-conference every year.

In college at Washington University in St. Louis, Amanda led the Bears to a 47-3 season her junior year, the most wins in NCAA history.  She started all 4 years in the outfield and had a career .376 average, with the most sacrifice hits and stolen bases in the schools history and ranking in the top 10 in 9 out of 11 offensive categories.

In ASA summer softball, Amanda played on the Ken Lommel's St. Louis Sluggers for 11 years, finishing in the top 10 at ASA Nationals 3 years in a row with a 3rd place finish in 2003 in 18-U.

This is Amanda's second year coaching Ursuline Academy, she coached at Maryville University and Fontbonne University before that.  This is her second year as a hitting and fielding instructor at the St. Louis Baseball and Fastpitch Academy.

As a coach, she focuses on each girl's individual swing; no two girls will have the same swing because no two girls are alike.  We work on feeling when you do it right and feeling it when you do it wrong, and focusing on that feeling of right over and over again.  And through that repition of breaking down the swing and doing it right, not only does the girl have a techniqually better swing, but has also developed a lot of confidence along the way.
